Bellwood Health Services, a nationally recognized and accredited Addiction Treatment Centre, with over 30-years of serving Canadians from across the country is looking for candidates to join a seasoned, multi-disciplinary team that is focused on quality care, by using best practice treatment, teamwork and respect.
Bellwood is seeking both full time and part time Psychiatrists to work at our new Peterborough location. The Psychiatrist will provide high quality case management, clinical treatment, and advocacy to clients for issues related to trauma and occupational moral injury. The incumbent is a member of an interdisciplinary team and is responsible for active participation in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and resident centered care planning.
The Psychiatrist’s main responsibilities include the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of patients, as well as the management and coordination of care utilizing psychotherapeutic methods and medications. The Psychiatrist works with patients who suffer from addictions, mental, emotional and behavioural disorders. The Psychiatrist is responsible for gathering and organizing patient related data from various sources including the patient, family, Nurses, Social Workers as well as performing standard medical examinations to determine patients’ physical conditions.
Full time and part time positions are available. Flexible scheduling is available and some on-call responsibilities apply.
