Edgewood presents “The Changing Face of Addiction” Open House & Community Forum on Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 1:30 – 4:30 pm.

Topics presented include:

OPIOID CRISIS – What Can We Do? – presented by Dr. Mel Vincent

Approximately 1500 suspected drup overdoses occurred in British Columbia in 2018. Join Dr. Mel Vincent to discuss how we can work together while implemeting evidence-based, best practices when it comes to the treatment of Opioid Use Disorders.

Join us for a candid discussion about different treatment approaches including the pros and cons of harm reduction vs. abstinence-based methods.

TACKLING ADDICTION – Mohammed Elewonibi

From Suberbowl Champion (XXVI) to clinical counsellor and recovery advocated, Mohammed Elewonibi tells his personal story of trials, triumphs and transformations.

Safety precautions against COVID-19

COVID-19 should not prevent someone from being able to receive life-saving addiction and mental health treatment. Rest assured that we are taking every step possible to protect our current patient population from contracting the infection.

Our facilities have policies and protocols in place to protect patients, including screening new patients, limiting visitors, and moving aftercare groups to online meetings.
