Our clinical team – including doctors, nurses, and counsellors – provides the guidance and care you need to address past traumas and abstain from substances to build healthy habits that last.

This program is housed in Edgewood’s Ferguson building, a separate and supportive environment for our military, veteran, and first responder patients to begin the work of recovery with like-minded individuals. You’ll recover with a small cohort of peers to foster a safe, trusting space in which you can truly open up and heal.

If you suffer from trauma but not addiction, our Trauma and Psychological Injury Program at Edgewood may be a better fit for you.

Extended Care Program at Edgewood

Returning home after rehab is full of challenges. You may be exposed to triggers and lack the support system you had while in treatment. You may also need time and resources to secure a safe place to return to in the community. Our post-treatment Extended Care Program is designed to help you practice the skills you’ve learned in inpatient treatment as you gain more independence and confidence before returning home.

While at Edgewood, through volunteer and vocational training opportunities, you’ll be able to solidify relapse prevention skills in real-world settings while living in the safety of our community environment. You’ll develop healthy support systems, improve on the communication and life skills needed to support recovery, and test out the aftercare plan you created during rehab.

In order to be eligible for extended care, you must have completed an accredited inpatient program within the last year, be at least 30 days sober from substances or process addiction, and be able to spend at least one month in the program.

ALLIANCE Program: Support for LGBTQ+

Coming out wasn’t easy, and neither is struggling with mental health or addiction. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, you may face unique challenges at home, at work, and even internally. If you are also facing issues with a mental health disorder or substance use, you want treatment from a team that understands where you’re coming from.

The ALLIANCE Program is a dedicated inpatient program based on the pioneering Project AFFIRM methods created by Dr. Shelley Craig from the University of Toronto. Here, you will be treated by compassionate clinicians who are either members or allies of the LGBTQ+ community, which will aid in your recovery. Your team will include regulated mental health professionals, such as psychiatrists and counsellors, and doctors certified to prescribe addiction medications on-site, as needed.

Trauma & Psychological Injury Program

EHN Canada’s Inpatient Trauma Treatment Program in BC
