Families healing together
EHN Canada’s Family Program offers structured support for families and loved ones of individuals receiving treatment for addiction or mental health concerns. Through a combination of education and connection, the program helps families better understand what their loved one is experiencing while also caring for their own wellbeing.
The Family Program includes two core components: a Family Education Webinar Workshop and ongoing Families Connect meetings. Together, these supports give families knowledge, perspective, and a sense of connection during a challenging time.
Why family support matters
Watching someone you love struggle with addiction, depression, trauma, or other mental health challenges can take an emotional toll. Families are often impacted in ways that are quiet, ongoing, and deeply personal.
Our Family Program is designed to support families alongside the person in treatment. It helps loved ones begin their own healing process while also learning practical tools to support recovery in healthier, more sustainable ways. By building understanding around addiction and mental health, families are better equipped to move forward together.
Who Can Attend Family Programs?
This program open to loved ones of individuals receiving treatment at an EHN Canada facility. This includes partners, parents, children, extended family members, and close friends who are impacted by their loved one’s mental health or addiction challenges.
Support is also available for families whose loved one is not currently in treatment. If someone you care about is struggling and you feel the Family Program could be helpful, you are still welcome to participate.
For families attending the program without a loved one in treatment, there is a fee of $499, plus applicable provincial taxes. If your loved one later enrols in an EHN Canada treatment program, this fee will be applied toward the overall cost of their care.

Programs that support families during addiction recovery
Families need different types of support as they work through the impact addiction and mental health challenges can have. The Family Program is designed to meet families where they are, offering education, reflection, and connection at different stages of the journey.
Family Education Webinar Workshop
The Family Education Webinar Workshop is a fully virtual program offered every six weeks over three half-day sessions. Sessions run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. PT and 12:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. ET. The workshop is open to as many family members or loved ones as would like to attend.
Across the three sessions, participants are guided through educational presentations that build understanding of addiction and mental health, while also focusing on the family’s own wellbeing. Topics include:
- Codependency and relationship dynamics
- Emotional regulation and healthy boundaries
- Mindfulness and self compassion
- Supporting recovery while caring for yourself
- Understanding your own recovery journey
Families Connect
Healing often happens through shared experience and connection. Families Connect is a weekly, virtual support group facilitated by experienced professionals.
These sessions provide a space for families and loved ones to gain insight, learn practical tools, and connect with others who are facing similar challenges. Meetings are hosted over Zoom, and participants are welcome to listen, reflect, ask questions, or join the conversation in whatever way feels comfortable.
