A Day at EHN Bellwood Toronto’s Toronto Trauma, PTSD and Addiction Program

Our medical experts carefully design every aspect of the EHN Bellwood Toronto experience to provide patients with the best chance at recovery. Throughout the day, we offer many recreational activities that patients can participate in between therapy sessions. These activities may vary based on availability, season, and weather.

Here is what a day at EHN Bellwood Toronto might look like:

Morning

After enjoying a healthy, chef-prepared breakfast, you’ll connect with fellow patients to start the day off with some reflective practice and intentions for the day. Then, you’ll attend an educational lecture on a topic like Biology of Addiction, understanding triggers, or codependency. In the last 3 weeks, you will take part in a daily relapse prevention group. Afterwards, you’ll get moving with a workout in our fitness centre, relax with a yoga class, or even attend a boot camp session.

Afternoon

After taking a break for a delicious lunch, you’ll learn skills to help you regulate your emotions and distress. In the afternoon, you will begin your small group Cognitive Processing Therapy sessions where we will safely start to explore your trauma. Then, you’ll end the day with either a one-on-one therapy session, SMART group session, mindfulness practice, or behaviour application group to help reinforce the skills you are learning.

Evening

After enjoying dinner with your fellow patients, you have the opportunity to partake in different self-help groups, fun recreational activities, or connect quietly with others to decompress. If medications are part of your care plan, our medical team will distribute them to you throughout the day, as needed. There are also holistic therapies you can participate in including massage, acupuncture, or chiropractor (extra fees apply).
