MENTAL HEALTH AND ADDICTION TREATMENT FOR IAFF MEMBERS

Our exclusive partnership provides care for IAFF members.

Fire fighters exhibit extraordinary courage and compassion each day, but the sustained pressure and occupational stress associated with such a rigorous career can often lead to mental health challenges, PTSD, and substance abuse. While fire fighters are trained to help others before themselves, prioritizing their own well-being and recovery allows them to thrive while supporting their communities, coworkers, and loved ones.

At EHN Canada, we’re proud to be Canada’s only behavioural health treatment organization officially partnered with the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF), which represents more than 350,000 professional fire fighters and emergency medical workers in Canada and the U.S. Together, we’re here to help fire fighters work toward an effective long-term recovery plan so they can continue doing what they love: keeping our communities safe.

Fire fighters and other emergency services workers face disproportionate mental health challenges due to their work.

Up to 75% of public safety personnel face potentially psychologically traumatic events (PPTE) on a regular basis.

International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health

Almost 100% of Canadian firefighters report dozens or hundreds of lifetime exposures to an average of more than 10 types of PPTE.

International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health

Canadian firefighters are 10 times more likely than the general population to be affected by PTSD.
