Reza Satchu

Board member; Managing Partner, Alignvest Management Corporation

Reza Satchu is the Managing Partner and Founder of Alignvest Management Corporation. Alignvest is a private investment firm based in Toronto that currently holds interests in a number of businesses across industries that include telecom, real estate, insurance, healthcare, and asset management. Mr. Satchu has successfully co-founded, built, and managed several businesses from inception including: Alignvest Management Corporation, KGS-Alpha Capital Markets, StorageNow, and SupplierMarket. He started his career in New York City at Merrill Lynch in 1991 as a Financial Analyst, where he was involved in structuring and executing high yield debt offerings, aggregating over $3.5 billion in value. Subsequently, Mr Satchu became a General Partner and Managing Director at Fenway Partners, a $1.5 billion private equity firm.

Mr. Satchu has a passion for educating the next generation of entrepreneurs. From 2003 to 2010, Mr. Satchu developed and taught Economics of Entrepreneurship at the University of Toronto as an Adjunct Professor. In 2010, Reza launched Next Canada, Canada’s leading Center for Entrepreneurship studies and business incubation. Programs launched under Next Canada include Next 36, Next AI and Next Founders. Mr. Satchu led the design of the program, including admission criteria, curriculum and incubation plan. He also built NEXT Canada’s founding team and recruited prominent entrepreneurs and business mentors from many of Canada’s largest companies including Rogers, Shopify, Power Corporation and Magna International. Next Canada graduates have raised over $850 million of equity capital for their ventures and have created thousands of jobs. In 2020, Mr. Satchu began serving as a Senior Lecturer at the Harvard Business School where he teaches Launching Technology Ventures and The Entrepreneurial Manager.

Mr. Satchu has a BA in economics from McGill University and an MBA from Harvard University.

Our facilities have policies and protocols in place to protect patients, including screening new patients, limiting visitors, and moving aftercare groups to online meetings.
