There is ongoing stigma already associated with both mental health and addiction treatment, but there are common misconceptions regarding virtual offerings that need to be addressed. People tend to think that telehealth options have less qualified practitioners, lack of security, and should only be used as a last resort. An ongoing barrier to accessing treatment is having to put your life on hold to complete inpatient treatment Telehealth offerings are implemented to ensure patients can ease into treatment from the comfort of a familiar environment.
