Joanna Anderson
Joanna holds a Masters of Social Work and a Honors Bachelor Degree from the University of Toronto. She trained at Toronto General Hospital on the adult inpatient psychiatry unit and went on to work at the Hospital for Sick Children (Sick Kids) on the Eating Disorders Unit. Her leadership skills and experience led her to take on the role of Executive Director at Sheena’s Place, a support center for adults with eating disorders, as well as Clinical Manager of the Eating Disorders Unit at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences. Additionally, Joanna has run her own private practice since 2011 specializing in the treatment of interpersonal trauma, mental health, and addictions.
She is currently a candidate in the Master of Health Sciences (MHSc) program at the University of Toronto. Joanna has 4 adult children and a grand-dog named Rosie, who happily works as a therapy dog at Gateway. In her spare time, Joanna likes to travel, garden, and spend time on the lake. Joanna is well acquainted with the EHN Canada network and previously held the position of Clinical Director at Bellwood Health Services, and is also the current Executive Director of EHN Canada’s Gateway Recovery Centre–Canada's first facility dedicated exclusively to the treatment of trauma and addiction among military, first responders, and frontline healthcare workers.
